image The 2017 MFL Champion River City Rampage has made the decision to return to the Midwest Football League for the 2018 season.

“There were a lot of contributing factors in the decision to return, the most important one being that we see it as an opportunity to help grow a young struggling league by being great ambassadors to the league and the sport of adult amateur football,” said Coach Anthony McCormick.

“I have been in the shoes of both the league owner and league commissioner. Sometimes you have to give people a chance to sort out the challenges of running a league. Is this the right decision for the Rampage, only time will tell but I have offered my assistance to both the league owner Jim Peabody and League Commissioner Jimmy Ross as a non-titled consultant to help them get going in the right direction.”

The Rampage finished the 2017 MFL season 12-1 with an impressive 42-14 win over the Twin City Sabercats (11-2) to win its first ever league championship.

Prior to joining the MFL (Midwest Football League), the Rampage spent the first two seasons in the Great Midwest Football League. Since the team inception, the Rampage have made the playoff’s each of its three seasons getting knocked out in the first round in 2015, advancing to the Conference Championship in 2016 and finally winning the championship in 2017. In the team’s short history, they have compiled a regular season record of 22 wins and 7 losses and a playoff record of 3-2.

The Rampage was founded by the Morris family in January of 2015 with the purpose of establishing an organization that is structured and competitive in the sport of football. The team is built on discipline, respect and brotherhood not wins and losses.
